lop, in the same way its possible for the flash compass to know where the point of the pano is, would it be possible to have a sound file in a flash file that pans left or right when you turn in the pano.
can the compas be made to work offline.

Layering a flash over deval window via CSS. http://lop.vectris.cz/overlayTest.html It works fine in IE but in FireFox there are some redrawing issues.
2. Embeding a flash directly by DVL script (newest deval feature). http://lop.vectris.cz/overlayTest2.html This version works in both browsers but communication is too complicated. It's using one more intermediate flash movie and Local Connection object. Hey Fiero, are you planning to allow direct communication between deval and embeded flash? Both examples are utilizing 2-way communication, so you can pan and zoom in deval window or click in compass to point the view that way. Of course you need the newest version of deval plugin and Flash player 8. And thanks to the new IMAGE effect feature you can notice a nice shadow under compass window. I can provide the source FLA files if anybody is interested. BTW That panorama is not mine. So don't ask or blame me. Lop adress-line is empty in FF. but image is shown.

cannot be loaded in FF. doesnt show up in IE.
ok, i have setup strict security-settings like microsoft baseline security analyzer told me. for IE.

Sure it is. But it depends on type of sound you have. - directional mono sound defined by an angle to the start of pan position - stereo field recording (ambient) taken in the start of pan position It has to be tested which method will be more natural to the user. Quote: can the compas be made to work offline.
For standalone player it is not possible at this time.
The Deval viewer has to be hosted by a browser. (due to Javascript communication)

I don't know what microsoft baseline security analyzer is but here in FF 1.5.0.1 and Flash 8.0.24 it's still working fine.
In IE also. (except of activating Deval for Eolas patch)

This example requires an advanced communication between Flash<->Browser<->DevalVR, this communication is not possible with a restricted account and strict security-settings.
If you uses strict security-settings it's normal that Javascript programming and browser plugins communication does not work. If you keep updated your browser (with all security updates) you can use normal security-settings, and all works. 99% of people navigates with normal security-settings without virus. Only you must install two things: any good antivirus and a firewall.

I am very interested in creating a 'floorplan' into a panaroma, like the 2 test samples. Are there any new developments on this topic?

I was testing this some time ago. You can check it out here:
http://lop.vectris.cz/floorplan/floorplanTest.html
It is using the same technique as that compass in 2nd example so it's not a clear solution and is not working in standalone version. But should be working fine in IE and FF.
DVL script is here:
Code: (pano) { TYPE=MOV; FILE=_temp.mov; DESCRIPTION= Saint-Leu ; IMAGE=0,0,#66,100,mul,compshadow; IMAGE=-10,-10,#66,100,,floorplan; NODO1=0,-19,-200,0,0,1,pano2; NODO1=-200,13,36,0,0,1,pano3; }
(pano2) { TYPE=MOV; FILE=port31.mov; DESCRIPTION= Le Port ; IMAGE=0,0,#66,100,mul,compshadow; IMAGE=-10,-10,#66,100,,floorplan; NODO1=-200,-20,-73,0,0,1,pano; NODO1=45,0,-200,0,0,1,pano3; }
(pano3) { TYPE=MOV; FILE=hellbrg.mov; DESCRIPTION= Cirque de Salazie ; IMAGE=0,0,#66,100,mul,compshadow; IMAGE=-10,-10,#66,100,,floorplan; NODO1=200,-33,-30,0,0,1,pano; NODO1=92,-37,-200,0,0,1,pano2; } (floorplan) { TYPE=IMAGE; FILE=floorplan.swf; SIZE=128,100; REFRESHRATE=15; }
(compshadow) { TYPE=IMAGE; FILE=shadow.jpg; }
and source FLA files are here:
floorplan.fla
floorplan_connect.fla
Of course now you have to specify azimuth (north orientation) for every pano in floorplan.fla to align them correctly with respect to map.

Hi, lop
This certainly best concept within the framework of project DevalVR.
I long ago wanted to ask, possible use this concept with DevalVR Standalone player (without HTML pub.)?
There is worker example?

Sorry hum@no.id,
This technigue is only working with plugin version (because of Javascript).
But there are some general multimedia applications that are capable of embeding flash files and browser window (with Deval plugin in it) into EXE file for cd-rom projects. My personal favourite is SWF Studio from Northcode and I have made a little JScript file that can check the existence of Deval plugin. I'm using this technique in our flash presentation cd-roms to show DevalVR panoramas.
If there's interest I can describe this in more detail.

Thanks Lop for the great example. You do magic with this great viewer
I have never done anything with flash, but this sample is the perfect reason to start!
It would be great to have something like this integrated in the viewer itself.

@ lop
Thanks for support
I think that project of call sys. DevalVR plugin, me not to be useful.
Reason: some are a corporative clients, beside which locked possibility of the installing the different external modules.

Hi all,
About DevalVR<->Flash integration, I'm studying the possibility of to integrate the Mozilla Gecko engine into DevalVR. This integration could do possible FULL DevalVR-Flash communication, to use Flash without to install it (Firefox version of Flash) and to use Flash in the future Mac version...
