I'm making an interactive presentation/virtual tour in Director using QTVRs that will be displayed on a touch screen kiosk. The machine is 64-bit, and therefore my QTVRs do not show up. Does anyone know how I can use DevalVR within Director so that these QTVRs will work in my interface?

hi,

you can use DevalVR as standalone player...but you have to make a link or a director from your program to DevalVR. Aproximative the same works in a museum (in this case the prog. is Mediator)...

You also can change QTVR in Flash...

Hi aliza,

To use DevalVR into Director you must install the ActiveX plugin. Download the installer here http://www.devalvr.com/install (IMPORTANT: use Internet Explorer browser to enter to previous link to download the correct installer, because the ActiveX is the plugin for Internet Explorer)

If DevalVR is installed in your system, you can insert a DevalVR window into your Director project. Select "Insert ActiveX" option and select "DevalVR object" in the ActiveX list. You can manage all parameters from Lingo too, for example "src" parameter to load any QTVR file.

Tell me if you have more questions.

Thanks for your help- I'm a bit new at this and am still having some trouble...

I can't insert a "DevalVR Object", there is only an option for "DevalVR Control." I can insert the control, but then how do I connect that with my QTVR object?

Hi aliza,

Yes, you are right, the text in the list is "DevalVR control". To load a MOV file into the player you must set the filename of the MOV in the "src" parameter of the plugin. Search this parameter in the properties of the plugin into Director. The path in the "src" parameter must be relative to your projector.

Tell me if you have problems.
